On 12th November 2024, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Blyth Catapult DARE and The National Robotarium, represented by Cristina Garcia Duffy, Director – Research & Technical Capabilities, and Stewart Miller, CEO. This strategic partnership marks a major step forward in advancing robotics, autonomous systems, and subsea innovation across the UK and beyond.
As part of this landmark event, Force55 Ltd was selected to install and deliver both surface and sub-surface communication systems to support a high-profile demonstration. Working alongside Sonardyne International Ltd, who supplied advanced subsea-positioning systems, and BeeX, who showcased their cutting-edge Automatic Target Recognition (ATR) capabilities, Force55 ensured seamless, real-time data transmission and monitoring throughout the entire wet-dock facility.
At the heart of this demonstration was the A.IKANBILIS™ Hovering Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (HAUV) from BeeX Singapore. Thanks to Force55’s industry-leading WatchTower Suite platform, the 2D and 3D position and status of the HAUV were visualised in real time on large multi-screen displays. This enabled unparalleled situational awareness and control, highlighting how modern subsea robotics can be monitored and managed remotely with total confidence.
