Force 55 Announces Approved Integration Partnership with Wavefront Systems to Transform Offshore Situational Awareness

Force 55, a leading provider of offshore network solutions and real-time situational awareness systems, today announced it has become an approved integrated solution partner of Wavefront Systems, a global leader in advanced sonar technology for subsea detection and imaging.
Through this strategic integration, Wavefront’s advanced sonar capabilities, including the Sentinel Intruder Detection Sonar (IDS) and Vigilant Forward-Looking Sonar (FLS), are now seamlessly embedded into Force 55’s Watchtower platform. The integration delivers a powerful combination of real-time subsea and surface monitoring, providing operators with a unified, actionable digital twin environment to safeguard offshore operations.

The joint solution addresses critical challenges facing offshore operators, including the detection of unauthorised divers and vehicles, subsea asset protection, and enhanced navigation for autonomous and crewed vessels. In particular, offshore wind farms, energy infrastructure, and naval operations will benefit from real-time, comprehensive situational visibility that supports proactive threat response and asset integrity management.

At the heart of this collaboration is Force 55’s Watchtower platform, a powerful digital twin environment that fuses data from multiple sources into a single, intuitive operational picture. The addition of advanced sonar significantly enhances Watchtower’s capabilities by providing precise underwater tracking, object classification, and threat detection beyond the reach of traditional surface-based sensors. Operators can now visualise subsea movements and anomalies in real time, allowing for early intervention and improved asset protection.

Watchtower integrates a dynamic ECDIS chart foundation, with above-and-below waterline digitally twinned environment, capable of overlaying remote-field; AIS data, live-stream infra-red camera, resident drone position\video, acoustic positioning and command networks, environmental sensors, and now advanced sonar applications, so enabling operators to monitor and manage complex offshore environments with unmatched oversee clarity. Its flexible architecture supports full interoperability with third-party tools, autonomous systems, and partner technologies, making it one of the most adaptable and future-proof solutions available today.

The integration is designed to scale with evolving operational demands and emerging security threats, empowering offshore operators to protect assets, improve efficiency, and maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance.

‘The Force 55 team have been exceptional to work with. We, at Wavefront, look forward to future collaborations with them and their customers’ – Goldsworthy, Business Development Manager, Wavefront Systems

‘The recent integration of Wavefront systems is a realisation for the F55 approach. The cross-domain platform delivers an above-and-below waterline communication and asset positioning framework without the need for the deployment of a resource rich on site Vessel. Such a framework is able to support the remote deployment of asset security devices such as the Wavefront IDS device – Patrick Bell CEO Force 55
