The North of Tyne region has been chosen to showcase some of the UK’s most advanced offshore wind technologies as part of the Technology, Innovation and Green Growth for Offshore Renewables (TIGGOR) programme. This prestigious initiative highlights the region’s commitment to driving innovation and supporting the growth of clean energy.
Force55 Ltd is proud to have been selected by Unasys to support the TIGGOR programme, collaborating on solutions designed to accelerate the development and adoption of cutting-edge technologies in offshore wind operations and maintenance. Key focus areas include remotely operated vehicles (ROVs), digital twins, cable arrays, and advanced sensor technologies.
As part of this project, Unasys and Force55 will present a combined real-time, multi-layered management platform to specialists from Equinor — the joint venture partner and future operator of the Dogger Bank Wind Farm — and EDF Renewables, which owns and operates the Blyth Offshore Demonstrator wind farm. This demonstration will highlight how integrated data systems and smart monitoring tools can transform offshore wind operations, improve decision-making, and enhance overall asset performance.
In addition to providing valuable feedback on these technologies, Equinor and EDF Renewables will advise on practical applications and future development opportunities, helping to ensure solutions are tailored to real-world offshore challenges.
ORE Catapult will provide further support by offering access to state-of-the-art test and demonstration facilities at its National Renewable Energy Centre in Blyth. This collaborative environment enables rapid prototyping, validation, and deployment of innovative offshore systems.
